1929 - 2000

Films and television, this new world
of communication born in the 20th century, lost a pioneer this year in
Ellwood Kieser, csp. Father "Bud" courageously seized the new opportunities
which these media presented to bring to the world the news of justice and
freedom pulsing within the Judeo-Christian tradition. As we mourn
Bud's passing, we commit ourselves to keep alive his own legacy - to be
artists of the visual media who keep present the "big" questions of existence
and our relationship to the Creator and to one another. In this spirit,
we dedicate the 2000 City of the Angels Film Festival to Bud Kieser. We
miss you, and we will continue your mission of boldly telling the truth.
