Responding to Evil
Saturday, October 27, 2001 at 3:10pm
sponsored by The Focolare Movement

As we witnessed the horrific images of September 11, 2001, a pressing question arose and continues to haunt us: “Why?”

In this context, the 8th Annual City of Angels Film Festival will address this very issue in a ‘critical thought’ event moderated by screenwriter and founder of ACT ONE, Barbara Nicolosi.  A panel, including veteran writer-producer Ron Austin, former President of the Writer’s Guild and Chairman of the Division of Writing at the School of Cinema-Television at USC, John Furia jr., and scholar and author of The Redemption of Tragedy, Dr. Katherine Brueck, will discuss such questions as: “What do we mean by ‘evil’ in modern times?  How do we encounter ‘evil’ in the contemporary media?  Is the cry of Jesus on the Cross a universal response to evil?”

Admission is Free.
It is suggested that you arrive a few minutes early since seating is limited.
