American Dream(s). Singular.
Plural. Static. Redefined. Are they real? Are they
healthy? Have they been achieved? Are they the same now as
they were before 9/11? This year we explore film's projections of
American Dreams. Hollywood has been instrumental in defining American
Dreams and exporting them. Other filmmakers voice their judgments
of our dreams. They may aspire to them, deride them, or help us understand
ourselves by framing them through their own cultural experience.
