Fourteen festivals later, our connection is not just with the people of Los Angeles, but with the world. It is now with a global eye that we scan the horizon and are pierced with its sorrow. This year, the festival committee offers you a variety of facets through which to view the prism of justice. We are now bringing new, award-winning ndependent films to the screen that provide currency to global trauma that we face, along with our previous exploration of classic films. The Reel Spirituality conference on Saturday excavates, “Just TV,” and Catholics in Media Associates explores, “Where’s the Love?” You may join us for our Sunday morning worship service where the Rev. Bridie Roberts will probe our conscious through her life in the trenches of our city’s struggle for economic justice. Then on Sunday evening, we will end with truth through laughter as the film, What Would Jesus Buy takes a bite out of our voracious appetite as consumers. The City of the Angels Film Festival is a collaborative effort by a diverse mosaic of people with deep faith who have joined hands to challenge and serve you. I am most grateful for the vision and experience of our talented committee members, the joyful spirit of our volunteers, the immense support of our sponsors, and for God, in whom we are united as one.
